We install high-quality elevated concrete in multi-family buildings.
Concrete has been a preferred building material for all kinds of applications for decades. But advances in technology have made different variations of concrete available in the construction industry. At Quality Controlled Floor Systems LLC, we offer a 3000-plus PSI concrete designed to be delivered into the building with a pump and hoses. This is product is typically used on balconies and breezeways of wood-framed or light-gauge-steel-framed buildings.

The concrete product is not necessarily unique or special, but the skill required to deliver the concrete to a small, specific area of a large building poses challenges. We own our own concrete pumps designed specifically for this type of placement. Our crews are skilled at moving cumbersome hoses up and down stairs, through units, and to exterior areas requiring concrete.
Unlike traditional concrete, elevated concrete forces the worker to be suspended on the concrete as the walls of the building prevent them from finishing and working around the concrete. This gives the finisher a very limited amount of time when the concrete can hold their weight and be worked but not become too hard to finish. Great skill is required to perform this most demanding job within the company and often requires years of practice and learning.

How long does it take concrete to cure?
Factors like the type of concrete and the environmental conditions, such as ambient temperature and humidity levels, all impact the cure time for concrete. In general, you should allow concrete to cure for at least a week before subjecting it to heavy loads or stress, and it won’t reach its full strength for about 28 days after being poured.
What is the expected lifespan for concrete?
Well-poured and maintained concrete has an anticipated lifespan of several decades. The specific lifespan will depend on the type of concrete as well as how diligently it is maintained. Our team is happy to offer additional insight into the predicted lifespan of your concrete surfaces if you choose to work with us.
