Concrete underlayment involves pouring concrete and leveling it on top of the subfloor, which often contains surface imperfections and unevenness. Concrete underlayment is meant for smoothing out the surface and providing the proper foundation, so the floor coverings can be installed properly, look visually appealing, and be easier to walk on.

What Is the Appeal of Our Concrete Underlayment?

We use a type of concrete underlayment called Gyp-Crete, which contains gypsum. Because the composition of gypsum contains solid water that changes its state from solid to liquid to gas when exposed to extremely high temperatures, our concrete underlayment is fire retardant and great for increasing safety in multifamily housing and hotels. It also helps with sound dampening, another important feature for multifamily housing and hotels.
